No, we don’t restrict the amount of data but we do have a fair usage policy:
FAIR USE POLICY
Natural Enterprise’s Yarmouth Broadband is designed to give everybody fast internet access, accordingly we have a Fair Use Policy to make sure that your broadband service is fast and reliable whenever you use it.
Why do we have a fair use policy?
As with all ISPs we have many customers who all use the shared network bandwidth at any one time. Most of our customers use the service considerately and their usage levels don’t disproportionately affect the shared network capacity. However, some customers use their broadband service inappropriately, for example when sending or downloading very large files, or using ‘peer to peer’ and file sharing software. This affects the service quality for all of our users, slowing up access especially at peak times. Peak times do change but are usually between 5pm and midnight. Our Fair Use Policy manages such use and makes sure the service can be used fairly by everyone.
How does the fair use policy work?
If you are one of the few who regularly uses our service inappropriately and we feel that your use will unfairly affect our other customers then firstly we’ll write to you letting you know about your usage and inviting you to fall within the Fair Use Policy, secondly we’ll manage your bandwidth during peak times (i.e. reduce the speed of your service) and finally if you continue to use the service inappropriately then we reserve the right to terminate the agreement with you (on notice).
Does the fair use policy affect me?
The Fair Use Policy applies to all our customers but obviously it will only actually affect you if you are one of the very few users who do use our service inappropriately.
